Join Richland County Conservation Department for a workshop on Integrated Pest Management on Thursday, September 13, from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm (lunch provided) at Tri-County Electric, 6473 Old State Road, St. Matthews. Experts from Clemson University, Clemson Extension, and USDA-NRCS will discuss agricultural pest management (weeds, insects, and diseases) for conventional, organic, and transitioning-to-organic producers. Speakers will include Clemson’s Integrated Pest Management Program Coordinator Dr. Geoff Zehnder, Extension Agents Morgan Judy and Dr. Powell Smith, Vegetable Pathologist Dr. Anthony Keinath, and NRCS Outreach Coordinator Elyse Benson. This workshop is co-sponsored by the Richland, Calhoun, and Orangeburg Conservation Districts through the Organic Richland program.
The cost is $10 per person (or free to affiliate members of the Richland, Calhoun, and Orangeburg Conservation Districts), and the registration deadline is September 7th. A registration form is available online at http://www.rcgov.us/rswcd.
